Many Benefits of Pruning

Pruning your trees has many benefits, such as preventing disease, safety, and appeal. We suggest you have your trees pruned every other year. Having a professional prune your trees when they are young is best. Pruning early on is less labor intensive and will reduce multiple leaders (limbs that rub against one another) to allow a central leader or single stem. This will create a more well-groomed appearance for the tree.

What's the Difference? Tree Pruning – Class I, II, or III

  • Perform a full Class I Tree Prune to the entire property:

    1. Tree canopies will be raised to promote growth in the tree and turf below.
    2. Trees will be selectively thinned from the inside of canopies to eliminate unnecessary branches
    3. Optimize the transfer of light beneath the trees to promote future health & shape of the specimens
    4. Trees will be shaped on the outside to keep trees off each other where possible
    5. Trees will be pruned off buildings with approximately 6′ of clearance
    6. Trees will be raised in all drive areas to approximately 15' clearance
    7. Approximately 25% of fully developed tree canopies should be removed
    8. Remove limbs and debris from the property
  • Perform a full Class II Tree Prune to the entire property:

    • Tree canopies will be raised to promote growth in the tree and the turf below
    • Trees will be lightly thinned from the inside of canopies to eliminate unnecessary branches
    • Accessible deadwood will be removed from canopies
    • Trimming will be to promote the future health and shape of the specified tree
    • Trees will be pruned off buildings to approximately 6′ clearance
    • Trees will be raised in all drive areas to approximately 15' clearance
    • Remove limbs and debris from the property
  • Perform a full Class III Tree Prune to the entire property:

    • Trees will be pruned off buildings/structures to approximately 6' clearance
    • Tree canopies will be minimally raised for code compliance and
    • Trees will be grown for head clearance around the property
    • Remove limbs and debris from the property

Watering

Proper watering is the best way to provide good care for your trees. We know which trees like moist soils and that don't require as much watering.

Mulching

Mulching is a great way to protect the tree trunk and roots. The mulch holds moisture and moderates the temperature of the soil. Mulch helps recycle nutrients back into the ground and helps minimize weed growth.

Pest monitoring

Many know that pest infestations are the result of the soil and weather. Practicing good plant health, like correct watering and mulching, will help reduce the need for pest control.

Fungal & Insect Control: Shrub, Turf, and Ornamental Trees

Insect and disease control treatments provide a healthier, more attractive landscape and protect the landscape investment by preventing or curtailing damage caused by the infestations of insects and diseases. Healthy plants will tolerate low levels of pest populations without suffering permanent injury. Proper insect or disease diagnosis is critical in determining the correct treatment for your shrub, turf, and trees.

Tree Fertilization: Injections and Deep Root Feed

Tree and deep root injections can help recover from fungal and insect infestations. We can treat all insect and fungal diseases. Also included are a nutrient injection and aeration for overall health. All trees will be diagnosed and treated on an individual basis.
